Budget Technician

As a Budget Technician, duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Initiate, process, and track all non-referencing payment packages, to include OF-1164s, for assigned refuges within the Business Team. Ensure proper purchase methods are utilized and purchases are in accordance with Federal procurement regulation; utilize FBMS to monitor and, as appropriate, make necessary adjustments (purchase and fleet card re-allocations, general ledger/journal voucher entries, etc.); and provide information to appropriate Budget Analyst(s) for use in budget formulation and execution. Ensure fleet and heavy equipment expenses are properly recorded, utlizing ME01s and OS01s, to capture all costs associated with those assets. Responsible for requesting real property work orders in accordance with established procedures. Provide administrative support functions to assigned duty station(s), including maintenance of records, reports, and guidelines; perform clerical tasks using Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, etc.; receive, distribute, and dispatch mail; oversee station permit program, etc. Only experience and education obtained by 08/25/2020 will be considered. A. I have One full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience for this grade is defined as:
1) extracting, compiling or summarizing numerical, statistical, financial or budgetary data in a variety of electronic systems; 2) monitoring and updating status of obligations or expenditures in electronic systems; AND 3) participating in preliminary budget estimates. NOTE:
Your resume must contain sufficient detail to prove you have one year experience performing ALL duties described. (OR) B. I have One-half of one year of appropriate graduate level education (9 semester hours or equivalent) in a field of study directly related to the work of this position, such as accounting or financial management. NOTE:

I do not meet the complete requirements of responses A or B above but have a combination of appropriate specialized experience and directly related graduate level education as described in A and B above that, when computed as percentages, equals at least 100% when combined. NOTE:

1) verifying accuracy and reconciling discrepancies of budgetary data in electronic systems; 2) monitoring and updating status of obligations and expenditures in electronic systems; 3) processing procurement actions or similar financial documents in electronic systems; AND 4) advising staff on budgetary, financial or procurement regulations, policies and procedures. NOTE:
Your resume must contain sufficient detail to prove you have one year experience performing ALL duties shown in 1-4 above. (OR) B. I have One year of appropriate graduate level education (18 semester hours or equivalent) in a field of study directly related to the work of this position, such as accounting or financial management. (OR) C. I have a combination of appropriate specialized experience and directly related graduate level education beyond the first 1/2 year of graduate study as described in A and B above that, when computed as percentages of their respective requirements, equals at least 100% when combined. Only graduate education beyond the beyond the first 9 semesters (or equivalent) is creditable using this method. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Promotion Potential:
This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed represent the full performance level of GS-7. At lower grade levels, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-7. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds.The selectee may be promoted without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. You must provide a copy of the Certificate of Eligibility for Non-Compliance Hiring Based for Public Land Corps Service. (1) In order to be eligible for PLC non-competitive status, a former member of the PLC must provide documentation, as part of their application, verifying their eligibility and meet the following criteria:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
